A concise view of the problem, the working context, and the response behind this project.
Took over an early-stage news application and evolved it into a production publishing platform used by both readers and editorial teams. The work covered the public website, editorial CMS, backend workflows, media handling, SEO, analytics, notifications, deployment, and production maintenance.
The original codebase primarily supported basic article management and needed to evolve into a complete editorial platform. The system had to support structured publishing workflows, large amounts of media and content, SEO-friendly public delivery, editorial administration, scheduled publishing, analytics, and reliable production operations.
Migrated the application from JavaScript to TypeScript, restructured the codebase, redesigned parts of the data model, and progressively replaced basic CRUD flows with a structured editorial lifecycle. Improved public data delivery through server rendering and caching strategies while building supporting workflows for media, notifications, analytics, and content administration.
Built the platform using Next.js, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, and TanStack Query. Implemented editorial states including draft, review, publish, schedule, rejection, and takedown. Designed a staged Cloudflare R2 media pipeline with temporary uploads, Sharp processing, WebP conversion, responsive variants, finalization, and cleanup. Reworked public delivery using hybrid SSR/ISR, server prefetch, React Query hydration, targeted cache revalidation, lazy hydration, optimized images, and deferred third-party scripts. Implemented structured URLs, metadata, JSON-LD, sitemap generation, Google Indexing integration, GA4, and FCM web push.

The platform reached production, published more than 1,500 articles, and recorded approximately 34,000 page views within a documented 30-day period. It became a full publishing and editorial system rather than a basic article CRUD application.
